Relationship with the Organization of American States

Earlier this year, International IDEA's Secretary-General met with the President of the IDB and with the OAS Secretary-General. They agreed that, further to the co-operative relationship already established between International IDEA and the IDB, an MOU should be established between International IDEA and the OAS Unit for the Promotion of Democracy (UPD). Details of this document are being finalized and its signature is expected by mid year.

This three-way co-operation is being established for advocating democracy and furthering its consolidation all over Latin America.
